Scrap Factory is a Field Spell Card that increases the ATK and DEF of all Scrap monsters by 200. But that modest ATK and DEF boost is just the beginning of what makes Scrap Factory a powerful addition to Scrap Decks. Once per turn, when a face-up Scrap monster is destroyed by a card effect and sent to the Graveyard (except during the Damage Step), you can Special Summon a Scrap monster from your Deck.

Scrap Decks have always been built around using the effects of Scrap cards like Scrapstorm, Scrap Orthros, and Scrap Dragon to destroy certain Scrap monsters and activate their effects. For example, one common play that Scrap Duelists make involves using Scrapstorm to target Scrap Goblin or Scrap Beast. After sending a Scrap monster like Scrap Chimera to the Graveyard, Scrapstorm lets you draw a card and then destroy the Scrap monster you targeted with it. If Scrap Goblin or Scrap Beast is destroyed by a Scrap card, its effect will activate to let you add a Scrap monster from your Graveyard to your hand. You can even grab the Scrap monster you sent to the Graveyard with the effect of Scrapstorm.

Now, when you make this play while Scrap Factory is on the field, you can also Special Summon a Scrap monster from your Deck. One of the most powerful monsters that you can Special Summon with the effect of Scrap Factory is Scrap Golem. Scrap Golem is a Level 5 monster with 2300 ATK that can Special Summon a Level 4 or lower Scrap monster from your Graveyard to either side of the field once per turn. Special Summon Scrap Goblin to your side of the field and Tune it with Scrap Golem to Synchro Summon Scrap Dragon, or Special Summon Scrap Beast and Tune it with Scrap Golem to Synchro Summon Scrap Twin Dragon. When either one of those Synchro Monsters is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard by an opponent’s card, you can use its effect to Special Summon Scrap Golem back to the field and start Synchro Summoning Scraps all over again!

Even though it’s easiest to use the effect of Scrap Factory when you destroy your own Scrap monsters with Scrap cards, Scrap Factory’s effect works when a face-up Scrap monster on either side of the field is destroyed by any card effect. That makes Scrap Factory useful even when you’re having trouble destroying your own Scrap monsters with card effects. Dark Hole, Torrential Tribute, and Mirror Force are all commonly used cards that let you take advantage of the effect of Scrap Factory, even when your opponent uses them.
